When I was a girl, my mother and I collected Madame Alexander dolls together. At the time they were relatively difficult to find, and quite valuable. Now my old messy played-with dolls are worthless, and I could barely get Goodwill or charity shops to accept my well-loved childhood toys.
I occasionally treat myself to a dark dollie, perhaps buying a Halloween-themed or witchy Madame Alexander doll every couple of years or so. This year I’m tempted by their new 2020 “Darling Devil” doll (via Amazon). She’s meant for adult collectors, not kids, by the way.
The eight inch tall “devil” doll wears a spunky black and red outfit with polka dot shirt, black tulle skirt, red satin slippers, devil ears and a suggestively phallic red tail. I was hoping her eyes were red, but alas, they’re light brown.
