Tonner’s Newest Goth Doll – Maudlynne Macabre

I really respect the Tonner Doll company – they work really hard to be individual, use quality fabrics and materials, and research their dolls and styles very carefully before creating a new doll. I never feel like they are co-opting goth or being disrespectful towards it, nor greedily trying to make money off our subculture. Their dark dolls are so beautiful and costumed so nicely.

This is Maudlynne Macabre, introduced in the last couple of months. She’s meant to depict a ten year old living in an old Victorian mansion in New York. I love her black and violet eyes and the fact she has a very unusual face shape for a doll. She doesn’t make me think of Emily the Strange, either, which is a relief.
